Garaško lake belongs to the group of accumulation lakes. It is located 10 km from the town of Arandjelovac and Bukovička spa, on the outskirts of Bukulja. It was built in 1976, by damming the Bukulja River to supply Aranđelovac and its surroundings with water. The lake consists of three branches: Milićevići, Lekići and Vrbe, which were named after the submerged hamlets of Garaši and Jelovik. 🌲

The shore of the lake is steep on one side and accessible on the other. The depth of the lake is about 22 m, and the area is about 65 ha. The lake is rich in fish and is a real paradise for fishermen, but it is not arranged for swimming. So, of the white fish, there are clen, redfin, bodorka, croupatica, babushka, and of the noble carp, perch, catfish, grass carp and pike, which holds the unofficial state record with the largest specimen of 19.6 kg. of the lake itself, which includes sports fields for beach volleyball, indoor football and a catering facility. 🌲

Going along the road towards the center of the village, there is a memorial fountain built for Garašani who died in the liberation wars. The Second Army of the Serbian Army was stationed in this village in 1914, before the Battle of Kolubara, under the command of Duke Stepa Stepanović. 🌲

Behind the fountain, next to the „Ilija Garašanin“ school, there is a 300-year-old Lužnjak oak that is under state protection and represents a true rarity of the Serbian flora. Across the road is the unusual attraction of the Peacock Rock, and downstream down the Bukulja river is the mill from Ranković’s short story „Devil’s Job“. 🌲
